Rowington Folk Club is a very friendly and informal gathering of musicians, singers and storytellers.
The club meets on the third Wednesday of every month at The Cockhorse Inn, Rowington CV35 7AA
Rowington Folk Club welcomes anyone who would like to sing, play, recite or listen!
The hosts, Pete Grassby and John Penn, start the proceedings off every month and the
format is then a couple of songs from the floor singers, followed by a couple of songs from
the guest. This continues until we run out of time! During the interval we are provided with
sandwiches by our friendly landlady Christine. The repertoire is very wide, from traditional
songs and tunes to self-penned and contemporary material. There’s no admission price but
we pass the jug during the evening to cover the guests’ travelling expenses.
The Cockhorse Inn, reckoned to be the oldest pub in the parish of Rowington, is a
delightful country inn with real ales and ciders and a mean cheese & onion sandwich!
